Tip for Creating Secure Passwords

Passwords are the single most important aspect of computer and internet security. You always want to have a complicated password that contains upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters. The problem with a password like LmI_I87-j9 is you will not be able to remember it, so you will write it down on a post-it note and stick it under your keyboard. As soon as your password is written down somewhere it is useless. Here is a trick to create complicated yet easy to remember passwords:

Think of a sentence that you will be able to easily remember, such as "I need to go to 7-11 for a Slurpee". Use that sentence to create an acronym by only using the first letter of each word plus the numbers and special characters. Your acronym-password for this sentence is Intgt7-11faS. The resulting password is nearly impossible to guess and you will never forget it. Another example would be the sentence "My phone number is 555-1231", which turns into Mpni555-1231.

Use this method to create secure passwords for all of your logins and you will keep your accounts much safer.
