The Fraser has begun to rise quickly due to the hot weather in the interior.  It is expected to peak around 6 meters on Wednesday.  At 6 meters, the dikes are considered full, but most of the dikes are 2 meters taller. The river is staying at low levels due to the lack of snow melt in the interior.The Progress is reporting that we will not see any flooding in the next two weeks, but we are not in the clear as 80% of the snow is still sitting in the mountains waiting to melt. The Fraser River level has stayed steady this week at 4 meters due to the cool temperatures in the Interior.  The temperature is supposed to rise in the next two weeks both in the Interior and locally.

The crazy weather today has caused a significant fluctuation in the level of the Fraser River.  The level is currently 3.6 meters, but was as high as 4.4 today.  Hopefully the rest of the weekend is mild allowing the slow and steady snow melt we need to keep the Fraser low.

The Fraser River level dropped this morning to 3.4 meters.
The temperature is going to get up pretty high today, possibly to 27 degrees.  This increase in temperature will cause a raise in the levels this evening, but the rest of the week will be much cooler. I heard about Baitcar.com on the radio and checked it out.  It has a bunch of videos taken from our baitcar program that shows actual car thieves driving around and then being arrested.  My favorite is the guy who whips out his crackpipe for one last hit after his car's engine is disabled. Lydia, Ruth, Andrew and myself carved our pumpkins tonight.  We owe most of the design to Zombiepumpkins.com.  The price was well worth it and we managed to carve some very impressive pumpkins.  All of the pumpkins were photographed on my 1971 linoleum kitchen floor, which gave off an eerie reflection.

We braved the elements and went down to the pumpkin patch yesterday to pick out some pumpkins.  They had a petting zoo, tons of animals, and a pumpkin cannon.  The pumpkin cannon shoots pumpkins hundreds of feet in the air and off a cliff.  It was great fun to watch.  We managed to find a few nice pumpkins in the patch, including Paul's first pumpkin and a funky white pumpkin. Looking around the house for more Halloween-ish stuff and what do I find... MIGHTY MITES!  I forgot I had these little guys.  It isn't really Halloween if you don't have any firecrackers.  Illegal or not, these are relatively safe and extremely fun.  I got these from my brother at my bachelor party. They feature a haunted maze and the haunted house.  The maze wasn't too terribly exciting, but the house was phenomenal.  It was full of good scares and had plenty of spooky things going on. After around 10 hours of fighting with Internet Explorer I have removed the worst piece of spyware I have ever seen.
